Presenter: Mehak Sheikh is a lead strategist for WYN Hub. Mehak also volunteers as an Advisor for multiple small social enterprises and non-profits primarily in Melbourne’s west in community development and placemaking initiatives. She is a connector by nature, and a facilitator by choice. With a background in Systems Change, Co-design and Advocacy. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship, youth leadership, intercultural dialogue, creating learning spaces and centering conversations around wellbeing. Her career journey is inspired by her educational background in Psychology and influences such as Priya Parker (author) and Deeyah Khan (filmmaker). She has often been the go-to person in a professional capacity to support culture conversations, community engagement, and big-picture thinking. Outside of her day job at the Foundation for Young Australians as the Movement Building team’s Training Lead, Mehak has co-founded a collective for South Asian diaspora advocates – The Brown Come Up, and a for-purpose life skills and emotional intelligence consultancy called Unconventional Learning, REGISTER NOW to listen to this inspiring leader!

Tahira Sheikh is the Founder and Lead Connector at WYN Hub. She’s a passionate local to the West of Melbourne, who loves to spend her time bringing together communities over food, games and business. Tahira is motivated to be involved in her endeavours through her own experiences and by the joy of meeting new people. At WYN Hub, she coordinates the monthly meet-ups and supports the growth of business and raising awareness of social impacts. Outside of her WYN Hub role, she is also the founder of a non-profit, Building Cultural Connections Australia Inc., and works in a local government agency in a Capacity Building role.
