Indian Classical Dance (Bharathnatyam) Workshop

This workshop will be conducted by the Artistic Director of Shakthiswaraa School of Dance – Dr. Rethika Ravi.

The workshop will include basic postures, simple exercises, Classical steps and dance to a beautiful piece of music. it is open to anyone who would like to combine the idea of having a brisk fitness routine with getting introduced to this traditional art form. The workshop will be designed for kids and adults.

Persons with no prior experience in dance are also welcome to join. They get the audio and video files of what will be taught in their emails after the workshop for future reference.

The dance school that was established in 2019 teaches Indian Classical dance – Bharatanatyam to children and adults. Dr Ravi has been a performing artist for over two decades and for the last 4 years, has been actively promoting culture and traditions through Bharatanatyam. She is a known face in the Wyndham area and has been featured in the Star Weekly June 2020 edition and in the Faces of Wyndham Project. Shakthiswaraa has also been part of the Ghost Light Series at the Wyndham Cultural Centre in May 2020. She has conducted various workshops in Early Learning Centres and Communities around Wyndham.

A Certificate of Participation will be provided to all those who will be part of the workshop.
